It is away from the hustle and bustle of the city, next to paddy fields, a water tank, and a small temple. Finding the road to the hotel is a bit hard as there are no signs from the main road so rely on GPS, the lane is obscure from the main road. The resort is in the middle of the way from Anuradhapura religious city and Mihintale. The rooms are okay, cozy, and comfortable. Each room boasts of a private bathroom, TV, mini fridge, AC, fan, electric kettle, tea/coffee/creamer/sugar, tea cups, water glasses, and water bottles. The bathroom is provided with one dental kit, one shaving kit, one shower cap, and one mini soap bar. The hotel has only about five rooms so offers privacy and much-valued aloneness and quiet for introverts. The food was tasty and vegetarian and Sri Lankan but they do offer eggs. The breakfast and dinner are the buffet and lunch should be ordered. The chef is indeed a wonderful cook. We enjoyed our stay at Anuradhapura. We were a group of 3 and booked a triple room. Tips: if you are scared of small harmless insects and animals like grasshoppers, frogs etc you should find a place in the city. This resort is located next to a paddy field and you have to expect them. There were no mosquitos and flies, it’s a clean place. There are plenty of birds like peacocks who come really close to the hotel rooms. So, a good place to relax and bird watch. Each room has a private outdoor terrace/patio with a small coffee table and two chairs, facing the paddy field.
We were at Athyantha Resort from 10th April to 13th April.The resort is located in a very quiet place away from all hustle and bustle ….The 3 nights were quite memorable.It was just the peace we wanted to have after our day-visits to various places. Auradha the owner ,guy always with a pleasing smile ,and helpful , gave us all the necessary directions and details of places to be visited. Nimal ,the other person ,we met there , was too, pleasant and active .Always available to attend to our requirements …..and can not forget the cook (sorry couldn’t get his name) The food was excellent and the dining area is quite airy with natural draft. Yes ,if you are looking for a peacefully set out place to stay after the busy tiring day we recommend Athyatha Resot is just the place .
Athyantha is a place where you can take a glimpse of an authentic bliss of a paddy field. The lush vegetation at the edge of the property entices many birds, which can be seen literally anywhere of the property. A wide range of the vegetarian dishes makes this place a paradise for vegetarians. My family visit to Athyantha was a pleasurable and an affordable one.
